If you wish to transfer a domain name from one registrar company to another, you’ll need to pass through several security steps. One of them is obtaining a unique EPP authentication code from the present registrar company – on the condition that you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the owner's mailbox and no one else can obtain it. You have to give this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they won’t be able to start the domain name transfer. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer code for a domain may be changed regularly. Some domain registrars call this code an Auth key, a domain secret or a domain password as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Hosting

If you’ve got a domain registered through our company and you’ve got a shared hosting account with us, getting its EPP authentication code is surprisingly easy. You won’t need to sign in and out of different Control Panels, as you can administer all your domains via the same Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is used to manage your web hosting account. You will see all active domains the moment you log in and to the right of the domains whose extensions require an EPP code in order to be transferred away, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon. All it takes to obtain the code is to click on the icon. The code is always sent to the registrant’s email, so in case the one that you shared at first is not valid anymore, you can change it with several clicks from the very same section.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

You can quickly obtain the transfer authorization code for any domain name registered under a semi-dedicated server account if you’d like to transfer it. This can be done through the very same Control Panel, via which you administer your account, so you won’t have to sign in and out of different admin interfaces. All you will need to do is go to the Control Panel’s domain management section and click on the EPP button associated with the domain name that you wish to transfer, as long as its TLD extension supports transfers with such a code. Our system sends all codes automatically to the registrant’s email address listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record, so in case the email that is currently listed is out of date, you can modify it with a couple of clicks without needing to leave the Control Panel’s domain management section.
